The Android build is the reference client for the open beta. It includes the full security stack: anonymous registration with an 8-character PIN and device fingerprint, a Double Ratchet construction with post-quantum key exchange (ML-KEM-1024, ML-DSA-87), AES-256-GCM-SIV attachment encryption, SQLCipher local storage, TLS with certificate pinning, and encrypted Firebase Cloud Messaging payloads for push notifications (no message content in the payload).
No analytics SDKs, no crash reporting, no advertising libraries, and no third-party data-collection code ship in the build. The app does not phone home to big tech.

Yes. The beChat Android app is listed on Google Play under the package ID com.lab48.bechat. You can install it directly from the Play Store listing.
Is beChat available on F-Droid or as an APK?
No. The beta is distributed through Google Play only. F-Droid and direct APK distribution are not part of the current beta program.
Does beChat on Android require a Google account?
You need a Google account to install via Google Play. The beChat app itself does not require a Google account to function. Registration uses an anonymous 8-character PIN and a device fingerprint, not a Google identity.
What Android version does beChat require?
Android version requirements follow what the beta build declares in its Play Store listing. If installation is blocked on your device, the Play Store will tell you why. There is no separate sideload path in the current beta.
