beChat is currently in open beta on Android. The iOS build is planned and not yet in public testing. There is no TestFlight or App Store listing at this time.

An iOS client is on the roadmap. The iOS codebase is in development, but no public TestFlight or App Store listing has been opened yet. When iOS testing opens, it will be announced on r/beChat and on this page.

In the meantime, you can join the open beta on Android. Accounts are PIN-based, so you can register today and switch to iOS later without changing your identity.

What will ship on iOS

The security model is platform-independent. When iOS testing opens, beChat on iOS will include:

  • Anonymous registration with an 8-character PIN and device fingerprint. The app asks for your email, phone number, or Apple ID nowhere in the process.
  • A Double Ratchet construction with post-quantum key exchange: ML-KEM-1024, ML-DSA-87.
  • AES-256-GCM-SIV attachment encryption before upload.
  • SQLCipher-encrypted local storage keyed by your PIN.
  • TLS with certificate pinning and HMAC request signing.
  • iOS Keychain integration for key storage (replacing the Android Keystore used on Android).
  • No analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or third-party data-collection SDKs.

Is beChat available on iOS?

Not yet. beChat is currently in open beta on Android only. An iOS build is planned and the iOS codebase is in development, but there is no public TestFlight or App Store listing at this time. Watch r/beChat or email privacy@bechat.world to be notified when iOS testing opens.

Is there a TestFlight I can join?

No public TestFlight is available yet. iOS testing will be announced through r/beChat and on bechat.world when it opens. There is no signup form for iOS specifically at this stage.

Will beChat on iOS have the same features as Android?

The security model is the same across platforms: anonymous PIN-based accounts, a Double Ratchet construction with post-quantum key exchange (ML-KEM-1024, ML-DSA-87), AES-256-GCM-SIV attachments, SQLCipher local storage, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. The iOS build uses native iOS Keychain integration rather than the Android Keystore.

Will beChat on iOS require a phone number?

No. The anonymous account model is platform-independent. beChat on iOS will register with an auto-generated 8-character PIN and a device fingerprint, the same as on Android. The app itself asks for your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID nowhere in the process. You only need an Apple ID to install from the App Store or TestFlight.

Can I join the beta on Android now and switch to iOS later?

Yes. Because accounts are PIN-based and not tied to a phone number or app store, you can register on Android today and the same account model will be available when iOS testing opens. Watch r/beChat for migration instructions when iOS ships.
